Bigg Boss is looking for you

The upcoming sixth season of reality show Bigg Boss promises a twist this year. After announcing that it will cut down on airing excessive fights and slandering among the housemates, the show is looking beyond celebrities as its participants.

For this edition of the show, Colors is inviting entries from viewers who wish to be part of the reality show. “With the aim of building audience interactivity, Bigg Boss 6 is reaching out to the aam aadmi, and thereby, reaching out to a larger cross-section of the audience. The show has a loyal viewer base and this campaign allows them to get closer to all the action of a reality show, besides interacting with other celebrities and host Salman Khan,” says Manisha Sharma, weekend programming head, Colors.

Interested people can submit their entries via SMS or an online registration process.

According to an insider, the entries will be judged on various levels. “People will be asked why they want to be in the Bigg Boss house. They will also need to list out their talents and reveal what they would do with the prize money if they were to win. The online process also lets you upload videos and photographs. Once the data is collated, it will be followed by a series of interviews by the channel and the production house (Endemol) leading to a shortlist.”

In the past, the show made headlines with its rather colourful brigade of profanity-spewing celebrity contestants such as Dolly Bindra, Rakhi Sawant and Kashmira Shah, just to name a few. This season, it will be interesting to see how a regular person will survive the three-month period with his/her every move tracked by omnipresent cameras.

After all, fame does come with a price.
